4th of July

The 4th of July was so fun this year! Lexington celebrated on Saturday July 3rd which was awesome! Bryce and I started out the day early with a 10K (6.3 miles) run through downtown as part of the Bluegrass 10,000. It was so fun to train with Bryce and Brynlee. We pushed her in the stroller all during the training, but we got a sitter for her race day.The weather was perfect for a race. No humidity and low temps. Bryce did a great job and said he would be willing to run a race again. We came in 1124 and 1125 over all and our time was 55:12.

After a nap and lunch, we headed downtown again, this time with Brynlee, to check out the festivities. Our first stop was the petting zoo. Brynlee loved it!

One of the booths at the festival was a baptist church that was giving out snow cones for FREE! It was warm by the afternoon so we hit that up more than once. Thank you!
Next stop was the court house and the water pad. This was Brynlee's favorite part of the day! We stayed there for a good hour while she ran, played and splashed in the water.

We were all pretty beat that evening so we light off some small fireworks in the road and called it good.

Sunday evening, Bryce's old boss, called and invited us to his house for a pot luck dinner and fire works. We were under the impression that it would be a small get together with bottle rockets. We couldn't have been more wrong!! The whole neighborhood was there! A neighbors unfinished basement was turned into a buffet, there were water balloons and squirt guns and kids everywhere. Then there are the fireworks. The bosses next door neighbor is a pyrotechnics engineer, with a licenses and everything. He brought out the big guns! It was awesome and we were so close and they just kept coming! An hours worth to be exact! It was AWESOME!

Hey awesome job on your race. I can't believe you guys are running. It always amazes me when people run for fun. I used to love running all through school but now I just don't like it. Maybe if I were to do it long enough to get into shape, LOL! Brynlee is such a doll!
